If you actually want to learn, this isn't it. I just started the masters program and I think it is absolute trash. Professors don't grade, students do. Discussions are pointless, information is common sense with vocabulary terms assigned to them. You can't get a response from anyone and they grade people who write like robots well and actually thoughtful papers poorly cuz they are lazy and don't want to read them to find the requirements. I joined the program because I own a small business and wanted to learn business. Everyone in the program clearly just wants the degree, not to learn and it's frustrating.

My experience at the University of the People has been very positive and meaningful. What stands out the most is the flexibility and accessibility of the programs. Being a tuition-free, accredited online university, UoPeople makes quality education available to people from all backgrounds, and that mission truly reflects in how the courses are structured. The online learning environment is well-organized, and the weekly assignments, discussions, and peer-to-peer activities helped me build strong discipline and time-management skills. The instructors and course materials are clear, engaging, and supportive, and I appreciate the amount of real-world application included in the curriculum. Another thing I value is the community. Even though it’s an online university, I was able to interact with students from all over the world, which made discussions richer and more interesting. The administrative support team also responds quickly whenever I need clarification about course registration, program requirements, or technical issues. Studying at UoPeople has helped me grow academically and professionally. It’s a great option for anyone looking for an affordable, flexible, and globally accessible education.

I chose UoPeople for one clear reason — it’s the only U.S.-accredited university that didn’t financially block me from earning a degree. I’m from India, studying BSc Computer Science, and every traditional option around me was either overpriced or demanded a schedule I simply couldn’t follow. UoPeople solved both issues. The weekly structure in the CS program is straightforward but effective: consistent deadlines, predictable workloads, and enough flexibility to balance studies with the rest of my life. I’m handling cybersecurity training, freelancing, and personal responsibilities at the same time, and the format actually makes that manageable. It’s not perfect — there are no live lectures, and you don’t get the typical classroom experience. You need discipline and the ability to learn independently. But if you’re serious, the peer-assessment system forces you to write, reason, and understand concepts instead of just memorizing them. That alone has improved how I think and work. Overall, UoPeople is a rare combination: affordable, accessible, and genuinely useful for anyone pursuing a CS degree without wanting debt or rigid schedules. It opened a door that traditional education kept closed, and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a realistic, flexible path into computer science.

My Experience at UoPeople Studying at the University of the People has been more than just an academic journey for me — it has been a personal transformation. Beyond the coursework, I have gained discipline, resilience, and a deeper sense of purpose. UoPeople teaches you to take responsibility for your own learning, manage your time wisely, and stay committed even when life gets challenging. What has shaped me the most is the diversity of the community. Interacting with students from different countries and backgrounds has broadened my mindset, helped me understand global perspectives, and strengthened my communication skills. The supportive instructors and peer-to-peer learning have also boosted my confidence and pushed me to think critically. UoPeople has shown me that quality education is not about physical structure, but about determination, hard work, and the right opportunities. It has taught me the values of perseverance, independence, and continuous growth. I am grateful for how far I’ve come, and I’m excited for who I’m becoming through this journey.

UoPeople is futuristic and it is doing what most colleges are not bold enough to do: Building a fully online college campus. It will also probably the pioneer if not capstone project that other institution will base on to venture into the UoPeople online campus model. Personally, UoPeople is an amazing option for people like me who have other responsibilities, who want to save time, who prioritize flexibility, and finally who are autodidacts. Also, they have super intuitive and seamless systems and I notice this especially during the registration period(if you have ever been on queue for a whole day just to register courses which turned out to be full, then this is gold). To say, the least, studying online saves a lot of time on commuting, registration queues, full rooms, etc...but in particular UoPeople saves money as well, because of its affordability compared to other universities and scholarships. In a way, UoPeople is the home for parents, workers, professionals, and older people who want to go back through education without being stigmatized. P.S: If you are a person who likes to be social and therefore learns better in groups over a cup of coffee or sth...then UoPeople is not for you. You might want to find something that is physical. Not saying they are no interactions among UoPeople students; but you get what I mean, online interactions are different from physical ones and can feel a bit too disconnected for extroverts.
