For the past two years, I’ve been studying Japanese with Erina-san, and it has been such an enjoyable experience! Even though the lessons are taught virtually, they’re so relaxed and friendly that it often feels like catching up at a coffee shop rather than taking a class. The lessons are really well structured, combining the Genki workbooks (we’re almost at the end now!) with real-life examples and natural conversation. This balance has helped me build confidence in speaking, expand my vocabulary, and now I can even understand a lot of Japanese dramas — which feels amazing! Erina-san is patient, encouraging, and always well prepared. She explains things clearly and creates such a comfortable learning environment that you actually look forward to each lesson. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Japanese teacher who makes learning fun, effective, and truly rewarding.

Erina-san is absolutely fantastic! She's patient as ever with simple topics and mistakes. She's curious to know who you are, what you have done and encourages you to speak about them in Japanese. I have been taught by Erina for nearly 3 years now and it's always been a laugh with her lessons.

Erina is the best language teacher I've had. She patiently explains concepts, and happily alters the lesson pace to address areas which aren't clear. She shares helpful resources and gives excellent feedback - if you struggle (like me) with recall, she's very understanding and will happily jog your memory of any vocab.

I started studying Japanese with Erina Sensei in November 2024 and still going. She is really patient and all the lessons are well structured, following both Genki textbook and other materials. The familiarity she brings to the lessons really help with any nervousness you might have. Also, all the instructions are understandable, in a mix of Japanese and English to make sure you understand what is asked from you. I really appreciate that after a break, she goes back to key grammar points with different exercices and she breaks it down for you if you find yourself stuck and the patience she has, in those instances, helps a great lot too. I highly recommend booking your lessons with her, as it will definetely help you reach your goals.

I’ve been learning Japanese with Erina-san for just over a year now, and I can say without hesitation that booking lessons with her has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. As someone in my 50s who hadn’t studied a language since school, I was a little nervous starting out. But Erina-san has made every step of the journey feel possible and enjoyable. Her lessons are completely tailored to me. She builds beautiful weekly Google Slides around what I’ve been learning, blending content from the Genki textbook with additional materials that add real depth and cultural context. The result? Each lesson feels like it was made just for me because it was! Erina-san strikes the perfect balance between challenge and support. I make plenty of mistakes (don’t we all!), but she never makes me feel discouraged in fact, she’s helped me reframe mistakes as the best kind of learning opportunities. Her patience, gentle encouragement, and great sense of humour make each session not only productive, but genuinely fun. I’ve been amazed by how much Japanese has crept into my daily life. I catch myself flipping thoughts into Japanese throughout the day. For a perfectionist like me, this process has also taught me to relax and embrace imperfection a lesson that’s extended beyond language learning. Whether you’re a beginner, a shy learner, a long-time perfectionist, or someone returning to study after many years I cannot recommend Erina-san highly enough. Her dedication, speed in marking homework, and thoughtful approach to teaching are remarkable. I respect her immensely. It’s no exaggeration to say that this is my favourite hour of the week.

She is also very supportive and an ideal teacher for all levels. She uses great teaching props and makes the lessons fun and enjoyable. Book a lesson you won't be disappointed.👍

I have studied with Erina-sensei for about 6 months now. Learning any language (especially Japanese) has been difficult for me in the past. But not with Erina to help me. Her lesson plans are well-structured alongside the Genki texts, but tailored to my individual progress. But all lessons are just challenging enough that i know i am learning something new each time and feeling accomplished for doing so. She is patient and approachable with any queries and there are always discussions on Japanese culture and - my favourite - music. I cannot recommend Erina enough for anyone interested in learning Japanese. ありがとうございますえりなせんせい

I have been studying with Erina-san for about 6 months now. Our weekly lessons have been engaging and very effective. She teaches in a very structured, easy to understand way and provided me with a lot of insight into Japanese culture, including native phrasing which definitely helps me ground what I'm learning in real life situations. Learning Japanese is difficult, but I think having a kind and patient tutor is invaluable in your journey - Erina-san has been invaluable in this regard, and I highly recommend her.

A very fun and useful service for learning Japanese with a kind tutor behind it all. Things are explained clearly and you are given many opportunities to practice what you learn both inside the lessons and without. Includes both written and verbal learning using a mixture of textbook course learning and more free-form exercises with great native insights that you may miss using textbooks. If you have been struggling with getting a start with Japanese like me, you could do no better than with Erina san - I highly recommend!

I have been in Japanese lessons with Erina-san for almost two months in preparation for a trip to Japan. I’ve enjoyed and learned a lot with her! She has a great teaching methodology and is very patient. I would really recommend to take lessons with her in order to get to know the Japanese language and culture. Arigatou gozaimasu! :)
