Not only did he do an incredible re-design that totally transformed the space but has continued to maintain it in the most beautiful manner. After a poor experience from my previous gardener, John and his team from Spades of Green have been such a contrast. They are talented, highly knowledgeable, always reliable and my garden looks amazing. John listened to me, offered creative ideas for all aspects of the garden - plants, lights, pots and water systems etc - that were specifically suited to my space, and then executed the plan quickly and with a minimum of fuss. His lighting skill is exceptionally good and has added significantly to my garden’s ‘wow’ factor. He had no problems accommodating the needs of my dog (often not popular with gardeners) while still managing to give me a wonderful garden which I love. He is easily contactable, always responds and is friendly and amiable. He also offered maintenance advice which has really helped me and as a result my garden is flourishing. I cannot recommended John and his team more highly.

He brought a wealth of knowledge to the project and had a real eye for what would work best in our space. The plants he selected were spot on for our location - healthy, vibrant and perfectly suited to the conditions. His ideas were creative and thoughtful, transforming our outdoor area into a beautiful, functional retreat. Rex and his team completed the work efficiently and with great attention to detail. I am so looking forward to watching them grow and bloom. His boys also built me some back stone walls, that fit in so well with our rocky Mt Colah landscaping. This included creating new garden beds, edging, paving, selection and planting of appropriate plants, timber screening and a watering system. We had a great experience with John and the team at Spades of Green when they did the landscaping at our investment property. After a thorough consultation, John demonstrated a vision for what the garden could look like, which was impressive. We had multiple quotes and Spades of Green were not the cheapest, but they gave us confidence that they could give us a great outcome based on their recommendations for what would work best to give us a low maintenance and beautiful result at the property, so we went with them. The project was managed smoothly with excellent communication and a trust factor as we couldn’t be there the whole time. The plant selection and layout compliments the house perfectly and gives the real boost the property needed that will last long term. I highly recommend John and his team. It’s the best landscaping experience we have had so far.

Highly recommend John and his team who recently renovated our very tired 70s pool and garden to a modern resort style space that we have used every day since. It was a hard site as pool as bottom of slanted land so everything had to be taken up and down by hand! John and his team were on time every day, great communication regarding challenges and opportunities and tidied up at the end of each day.
