Loren and Shvetali are great teachers. They helped me through every step on my research paper. Anytime I needed help on my paper they were available. I also really appreciate their flexibility. There are times when I would need to skip a class because of traveling and they were very understanding. Most of all I learned so much. I would always finish class and talk to my parents about everything I learned from class and my paper. I truly enjoyed the wonderful opportunity.

I did a Rising Researchers bioinformatics class in summer 2025 and had a great experience. My instructor was very helpful and also knowledgeable about bioinformatics. It not only taught me how to research with bioinformatics tools but also presentational skills to present that research. I had a lot of fun!

I enjoyed Rising Researchers. Even though it was online, I still felt like I was accomplishing a lot. I learned how to use tools like KEGG and SRPlot to analyze gene data. Dr. Jedy was helpful and gave good feedback!

I had an incredible experience learning about bioinformatics tools and applying them to study a disease of my choice. This research opportunity is a fantastic resource for high school students, whether you're just starting your research journey or continuing to explore new areas. Dr. Jedy, my instructor, was an amazing teacher. She made the complex material and topics easy to understand and was always willing to dedicate extra time for students who needed it.
