I have studied French with Elsa for several months last year and I can say that she is very much recommended!
Elsa is a friendly and experienced language teacher who clearly enjoys her job. She is patient and encouraging. The lessons are well planned and never boring: Elsa uses a wide selection of different teaching methods, from the standard grammar book to videos and a wide variety of reading and writing exercises, which are both fun and challenging. Most importantly for me, she always adjusted the content to my skill level, noting my strengths and areas needing more support, and focussing attention on my learning needs.
My mother tongue is Italian but after living in the UK for over 20 years I often struggle to avoid translating from English when it comes to sentences’ structure and vocabulary. Elsa has pushed me to speak and “think” in French and explore ways in which I could draw from the commonalities between French and my Italian mother tongue, rather than English.
She will always put you at ease, even when you say something wrong, she will make you feel comfortable in trying and speak and throw yourself into the French language :) Elsa is very flexible - I have a very unpredictable as I primarily live and work in the UK but spend time in Brussels on a non-regular basis - and she will do both online classes and in person from her home.
If you want to learn or improve your French in Brussels, Elsa is the teacher who will get you there.
Elsa is a great teacher, many thanks for the excellent lessons. Elsa has been very supportive and has helped me make rapid progress thanks to our online lessons. Even though I took French lessons a few years ago, my level was still beginners. I find the individual classes make a big difference as I have the opportunity to speak a lot and ask questions. I used to struggle with grammar but Elsa is very good and patient at explaining. I have also enjoyed the discussions on French culture. The homework exercices have also helped me adress my weaknesses. I recommend strongly.

Jeg har haft næsten 40 lektioner med Elsa gennem ”My French Lessons”, og jeg kan anbefale alle, der gerne vil forbedre deres franske, at lære sammen med hende. I sin undervisning bruger Elsa forskellige værktøjer og metoder til at forbedre både mundtlige og skriftlige færdigheder. Hun har altid fokus på individuelle behov, og undervisningen er struktureret omkring aktuelle og spændende emner. Jeg lærer mere sammen med Elsa, end jeg har gjort på andre franskkurser. Jeg synes derfor, at man med individuelle lektioner får ”fuld valuta for pengene”, og jeg har tænkt mig at fortsætte, indtil jeg ikke længere har brug for undervisning. Kæmpe anbefaling.

Comencé clases particulares con Elsa porque quería mejorar mi nivel de francés y, sobretodo, sentirme más segura en la comunicación oral en situaciones cotidianas. Comencé a ver resultados rápidamente tras algunas clases, lo que me motivó mucho. Las clases son dinámicas y se adaptan a tus objetivos, además, Elsa es una profesora genial, amable y muy paciente 😄 cosa que es muy importante para mí, ya que he tenido algunas experiencias poco agradables en el pasado que me desmotivaron a estudiar francés. Recomiendo sus clases sin lugar a duda!

I had a fantastic experience with Elsa over the last 7 months and am very grateful for how much she helped me improve my level of French and my confidence in speaking. I have been taking French lessons with Elsa for a few months now and I can say she is a great teacher. Our lessons are online, which is much easier to fit into busy work schedules, and are very diverse and stimulating with a mix of speaking, listening, writing and reading. What I appreciate the most is that Elsa is very encouraging when she sees progress, which has been motivating for me to take my B1 French exams soon :)
Elsa kiváló nyelvtanár, bátran tudom ajánlani bárkinek. Kezdőként kerestem meg, és stabil nyelvtani alapokat tudott adni amellett, hogy nagy hangsúlyt fektet a beszédkészségekre. Remek témaválasztása és felkészültsége miatt nagyon jól a tanítványra tudja szabni az órákat. A közös munka hatására gyorsan fejlődnek a nyelvi készségeim, illetve az önbizalmam, ha a franciáról van szó!
J'ai beaucoup apprécié mes cours chez Elsa qui est une professeure à l'écoute et bienveillante. Elle adapte ses cours aux besoins de ses élèves ce qui m'a permis de progresser facilement.
Elsa is a fantastic teacher, she is kind and approachable. She is very organised and energetic, explains rules clearly and her lessons are very interactive. She tailors the teaching based on what you want to improve, in my case we have been focusing more on writing. I could really see an improvement after just some weeks of regular classes and homework! Definitely recommend!😊
